Introducing The Official K9s United License Plate!

K9s United is excited to announce our exclusive new Florida license plate! This is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and critical funds for the organization. In fact, $25 from each plate purchase goes directly to K9s United to fund the training for officers and provide essential equipment that K9s and K9 units need to stay safe in the field and protect the communities they serve. 

We need your support as we have to presell 3,000 of these plates before the state of Florida will produce them. Here’s what you need to know about getting your tag: 

  • While you won’t be mailed your plate immediately when you order, the DMV will send you a voucher to take into the DMV to get your plate in person once it’s available. 

  • We welcome all Florida residents with an active Florida driver’s license to purchase a plate.

Specialty Tag FAQ’s

1. What information do I need to purchase a voucher? 

You just need your Florida driver’s license and a vehicle registered in your name, as owner or co-owner. 

2. My tag does not renew until a later date, can I get a tag before my renewal is up?

Yes! You may order a voucher now and when the tag is available you will be notified. You will have to pay an additional $28 at the tag agency when picking up your tag, due to early renewal. Then, when your actual renewal comes around, you will pay your usual renewal fee and the renewal for the specialty tag. 

3. Does all of my $34 fee go to K9s United?

Most of it does! $25 goes directly to K9s United, $5 goes toward the state processing fee, and $3 for the branch fee. We charge an extra $1 to cover online processing fees.  The plate is available at the DMV to pre-order for $33.00. We charge an extra $1 to cover online processing fees. We appreciate your support.

4. What if you do not reach the 3,000 sales threshold?

We need you to help us spread the word so we can reach 3,000. But, if we do not reach our goal, you can either use the voucher for another specialty plate or get a full refund. 

5. Can I order more than 1 tag? 

Absolutely! You just have to order each tag individually, and the tag must be ordered with the driver’s license that’s registered to the tag. 

6. Will I be mailed my license plate? 

Because we are in the preorder phase, you will receive a voucher from the state for the license plate and will be notified when it’s ready for in-person pickup at your local tag agency. 

7. Do the vouchers expire? 

No. You can keep it until the plates are available, use the voucher for another specialty plate, or get a full refund. 

8. I live out of state, can I order a voucher? 

Currently, this tag is only available to Florida residents, but be sure to check your state’s DMV for a similar plate. And we have many other ways that you can support the organization.

9. Can I order a personalized plate?

Yes. If you do not currently have a personalized specialty tag and want to get one, you will have to go to your tag agency in person to order, as the specialty plate option cannot be reserved in advance of the plate being issued.

10. Is the renewal fee for the specialty tag an additional $33 to your regular renewal fee? 

Yes, the renewal fee will be $33, with $25 of that going directly to K9s United, $5 for state processing, and $3 for the branch fee. Thank you for your donation!
